Carlos is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA) and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) in the state of North Carolina.  Carlos has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of concerns. Carlos has over 8 years of experience in the mental health field, focusing his expertise on troubled youth and their families as well as adults experiencing mental health and substance abuse issues. Carlos earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Walden University at Minnesota and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico. 

Katherine Scott, M.S. LPA

Katherine is a Licensed Master’s Level Psychologist (LPA). Katherine has over ten years of experience in the mental health field.  She earned a bachelor's in Psychology from Meredith College and a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Radford University. Katherine specializes in treating childhood mental health disorders and has a passion for advocacy.  Katherine provides individual and family therapy to preschoolers, children, adolescents, and adults using primarily cognitive behavioral and client centered approaches.

Kristen specializes in treating childhood sexual abuse.  Treatment areas include anxiety, depression, domestic violence, behavioral problems, family issues, divorce/separation, grief/loss, and PTSD/trauma exposure.  As your therapist, Kristen will work collaboratively with you or your loved one to ensure the development of tools necessary to promote healthy change. Kristen will create an accepting atmosphere that promotes a safe therapeutic relationship to express yourself.  Kristen has a passion for working with cancer survivors and their families. ​In addition to private practice, Kristen has extensive experience in working with adjudicated and at-risk youth in residential care, group homes, and agency settings.  Kristen has worked with severe mental health issues in a psychiatric hospital diversion program. She is a former Clinical Director of a large, CABHA state agency.

Jen's experience includes working with children, adolescents, groups, and families in public schools, community mental health centers, and private practice. Jen works with clients on a variety of concerns including exposure to trauma in home, school, and community, parenting styles, anger, anxiety, ADHD, behavior concerns, depression, and relationship issues. When working with clients, Jen integrates a Cognitive-Behavioral approach with a client-centered approach. Jen also uses methods of play therapy, as she believes play is the child’s language. Jen also has training in specific treatment modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS, SPARCS-I).

Jen is licensed by the state of North Carolina as a Professional Counselor (LPC) and recognized as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  Jen earned a Master's degree in Counselor Education with a concentration in Community Counseling from North Carolina State University, a Master's degree in Human Development with a concentration in Child Development from Virginia Tech, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina..

Treatment areas include ADHD, anxiety, autism, behavioral problems, depression, divorce, grief, parenting skills, sexual abuse and other trauma. She also provides family and couples counseling and offers diagnostic evaluations for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Katherine has testified in court on numerous occasions as an expert witness.

Katherine is passionate and enthusiastic about the work she does with each client. She believes that one of the biggest facilitators of therapeutic change is the relationship between the therapist and the client. As your therapist, Katherine will provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental and comfortable environment where you can express yourself and issues of concern. She will work to establish a relationship of trust and understanding, and will assist you in developing goals and skills to help you achieve these goals. When working with young children she uses play therapy techniques as children express themselves and learn through play. In addition to private practice, Katherine has worked in a community mental health center and completed a year long internship in a psychiatric hospital.
